Marc McCay

Marc J. McCay completed a residency through the Coleman Center for Arts and Culture and the municipalWORKSHOP during March, 2005. McCay’s project, Observations, took place in various sites throughout the town of York, Alabama. For the duration of his residency McCay documented formal examples of mark making throughout the community. His project was completed by a sprawling exhibition held in the town, which displayed the photographs in a number of diverse places including Cobb’s Pub, ACE Hardware, Aisle 5 of the Piggly Wiggly, and the City Hall courtroom.
