York Art Here, Shana Berger and Nathan Purath

Your Art Here co-founders Shana Berger and Nathan Purath worked with kids in public and private schools in York Alabama in May of 2005. Students in the area schools were asked to make drawings about their own communities. The drawings were then scanned into the computer and digitally collaged into three art pieces that are currently displayed on billboards in York, AL.

Your Art Here strives to reverse the relationship that American youth has with the mainstream media. By placing the youth's ideas in the prominent social realm of advertising we hope to honor their vision of the world, and instill in them the desire, knowledge, and confidence that will allow them to engage their communities and world throughout their lives.
