Sumter County Fine Arts Council Anual Art and Photography Exhibition, 2004

Sumter County Fine Arts Council’s Annual Art & Photography Exhibition highlights the new creative work produced by Sumter County residents over the last year. It is an opportunity for Sumter County artists, artisans and photographers, and UWA students to come together and share the products of their creativity. All Sumter County residents, 18 years of age and older, are allowed to enter up to three pieces of original artwork. Only original designs and constructions are acceptable. No kits or commercial porcelain molds may be used and all work must have been created after March 16, 2003.

The current Coleman Center Artist-in-Residence, Andrea Stanislav, will jury the exhibition. Andrea Stanislav is a Brooklyn based artist, born in Chicago in 1968. Her sculptures and multi-media sound installations have been exhibited internationally since 1990. Stanislav received an MFA in sculpture from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University in 1997 and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1990. Ms. Stanislav will be on residency in York until the end of March. She will be selecting work and awarding up to $800 in various merit awards. If you are a Sumter County resident or a UWA student, now is your chance to share your creativity with the rest of the region and to have your recently produced paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, fabric works, mixed media works, ceramics, sculpture, or stained glass exhibited in the Altman-Riddick Museum at the Coleman Center.
