Sumter County Fine Arts Council Annual Juried Art Show

Sumter County Fine Arts CouncilThe Coleman Center for the Arts and the Sumter County Fine Arts Council will be hosting their Annual Juried Art Show at the Coleman Center for the Arts from February 8th to April 3rd. The opening reception will take place Friday, February 8th from 6 to 8 pm.

This juried show will feature the artwork of Sumter County artists, and $600 in cash prizes will be awarded. Anne Arrasmith and Peter Prinz, founding co-directors of the Alabama arts organization Space One Eleven in Birmingham, will be the guest jurors.

Entrants shouldpick up their artworks at the Coleman Center gallery in York on Friday, April 4th from 10am to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM, and Saturday, April 5th from 9 AM to 12 PM. For more information please contact the Coleman Center at 205-392-2005, or email info@colemanarts.org.

SCFACThis annual show is a chance to showcase the artistic talent of Sumter County, and for local artists to receive feedback and recognition for their work from an accomplished juror. This year's show features painting, basketry, quilts, glass work, furniture, ceramics, mixed media, and photography.

The Coleman Center would like to thank the Sumter County Fine Arts Council, the University of West Alabama, the Sumter County Fine Arts Council Annual Juried Art Show Committee, Anne Arrasmith and Peter Prinz, and all of the artists who participated to make this year’s show a tremendous success.

Important Dates

Sumter County Fine Arts CouncilEntry Drop Off, Saturday January 26th from 11 am to 2 pm and Monday January 28th from 3 pm to 6 pm

Show Opens and Reception, February 8th, 6 to 8 pm

Show Closes, Thursday, April 3rd

Pick Up of Entries, Friday, April 4th from 10am to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM, and Saturday, April 5th from 9 AM to 12 PM
