Please join us at Pop Start (211 A Braod Street across from Super Dollar) in downtown York to celebrate the talent and accomplishments of Art Club, the Coleman Center’s after school program. Join students in a community workshop that will conclude their final installation and contribute a new public art piece in downtown York. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 6th at 5:30 PM and is free and open to the public! All are welcome! Refreshments will be served!
This spring Art Club students spent the semester exploring public art by creating work in the storefront windows of the Coleman Center’s new downtown space, Pop Start. Students looked at and discussed murals, installation art, and storefront and street-level art projects around the world while planning their own art interventions. Using painting, sculpture, design, creative writing, and community event planning, students worked to activate the window front space while considering how art can contribute to, inspire, or support their own communities.
