Alabama artist Amy Pleasant began working with the Coleman Center for the Arts through a series of introductory visits in 2010. Over the last year she has offered youth workshops, given artist talks, and re-sited part of her Birmingham Museum of installation, Suspended.
Pleasant is currently working on a new public wall drawing and exhibition to premiere at the Coleman Center for the Arts in the fall of 2011.
About the Artist
Amy Pleasant is a visual artist who lives and works in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a B.F.A. from the Tyler School of Art, and an M.F.A. from the Arts Institute of Chicago. She is represented by the Jeff Bailey Gallery in New York City. Her work has also been shown at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, and in the Columbus Museum of Art Biennial in Columbus, GA.
