Coleman Center for the Arts will collaborate with professional storyteller, award winning poet, and author from the Black Belt Salaam Green to host a one-day, all ages storytelling workshop. Learn how to craft and present engaging stories drawn for your own experiences. Find out how storytelling can move beyond tall tales to become a platform for community conversation, intergenerational learning, and healing. Explore slice-of-life stories told from the heart by homegrown folks–every age has a story to share!

The workshop will provide a space to share experiences, write, learn, and discuss community values through supportive storytelling exercises.

The Storytelling for the Ages workshop will conclude with a community sharing event where participants can share their stories with friends and family.

Saturday, July 28th. Workshop will run for 10am-3:30pm with a break for lunch from 12pm-1pm and a community sharing event at 4pm. Lunch is not provided.

This workshop is FREE! All materials will be provided. Snacks included!

Community Arts Workshops are designed for multiple generations–friends and family of any age are encouraged to register together and share this creative learning experience.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration forms at the Hightower Memorial library or download HERE.
