Calling all Sumter County youth ages 8-18: you are invited to “Be a Part of Camp” as you experiment in visual, performing and culinary arts at the Coleman Center for the Arts’ one-week summer camp! Camp will run June 3-7, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, with a closing celebration on June 7 from 6-8 pm.

This year the activities of camp will investigate how a part relates to the whole. Campers will consider hierarchy, structure and systems like biology, society and culture. Participants will gain experience in drawing, painting, photography, music, performance, creative writing and critical thinking. Camp offers one track for campers age 8-12 and one for campers 13-18, each tailored to the needs and interests of participants. Varied, tasty and balanced lunches will be provided every day.

An all-star group of artists and educators will lead sessions at the Coleman Center for the Arts’ Summer Camp. Instructors include Shana Berger, Vassie Welbeck-Browne, Jocelyn Edens, Darius Hill, Nathan Purath, Catherine Shelton, Kanita Sturdivant and Erik Witherspoon!

Space is limited to 20 campers, so don’t wait too long to sign up and “be a part of camp!” Reserve your space in camp by filling out a registration form and turning it into the Coleman Center by May 30th.
